Howard Foye Yeager Jr of Opelika Alabama found peace with the Lord on September 19th 2021. Born and raised in Alabama, He found a passion for agriculture, the outdoors, and Auburn football. Passions that he carried with him throughout life.
His love for agriculture led him to Kentucky to attend Western Kentucky University, where he received his degree in Animal Science. Soon after he moved to Grayson County working for the Grayson County Health Department and becoming more involved in his community.
Over the years he would coach youth sports and become very active in the 4-H program. He played a role in the creation of the local Jr. Pro Football program, Grayson County 4-H Livestock Club, Grayson County Ag Fair, and the Kentucky Club Lamb Association (KCLA).
After his retirement with the Health Dept., he began work with the USDA, retiring from there in July 2021.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Foye Yeager Sr., and his daughter, Rachel Leanne Yeager.
His survivors include his mother, Sarah Yeager of Opelika AL ; his Son, Jason Yeager of Clarkson KY ; sister, Joy Yeager of Opelika AL; brother, Mark Yeager of Tuscaloosa AL ; and three grandsons, Connor Yeager, Ayden Webb, and Abraham Witten.
Arrangements for a Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Howard Yeager Jr Memorial Fund which will be used to promote Agriculture in the youth programs of Grayson County.
