Margie Lush Higdon, age 94, of Leitchfield, passed away, Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Owensboro Health-Twin Lakes Medical Center.
She was born March 25, 1927, in Grayson County to the late Albert and Hettie Heavrin Lush. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she was involved in many church functions. She worked at the Pizza Chef for 18 years and Captain D’s for 27 years. She loved, baking, gardening, bird watching, playing games, watching basketball and was an avid UK fan.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Higdon; a son, Cecil Higdon; a great-grandchild, Laney Higdon; a sister, Josephine Johnson and two brothers, William Lush and James Lush.
Margie is survived by three sons, James Higdon, Ralph (Susan) Higdon and Charlie (Tracey) Higdon; a brother, Joseph (Barbara) Lush; a sister, Elizabeth Clark; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Higdon; nine grandchildren, Beth (Jason) Immerso, Chasson Higdon, Tiffany Higdon, Amanda (Justin) Wilkins, Adam (Shena) Higdon, Alana (Bryan) Jones, Alli (Saf) Higdon, Kristyn (Chad Adams) Higdon, and Taylor Higdon; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 17, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Revs. Babu Kulathumkal and Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM, Sunday and from 9 to 10:30 AM, Monday at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Home.
Prayer service will be held at 6 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
